JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The poems in Judy James' new collection titled "Whispers" (published by Balboa Press) are inspired by life around her. The poems encourage living a more peaceful life.

"We are bombarded with outside stimulation these days, and are constantly 'on the move,' both internally and externally," James says. "My poetry is a slowing down, a brief rest, where one will find peace among the chaos."

Focusing on a theme of spirituality and an awareness of the beauty that surrounds every person on Earth, James' poetry features pieces stimulated by nature, her yoga and meditation practice, observing life and contemplating her place in the universe.

An excerpt from "Whispers":
I am convinced that everyone's soul 'whispers', it is just a matter of hearing and feeling its messages.

James intends to donate the royalties for book sales to Yoga 4 Change, a Jacksonville, Florida, non-profit that delivers yoga curriculum to veterans, people in prison, people with substance abuse problems and vulnerable youth.
