VANCOUVER, Wash.
A visit to the International Storytellers gathering in Whitehorse, Yukon territory inspired author Rocco Tedesco to share his tales, stories made over a period of more than 50 years. Some were told to him by his grandmother during World War 2, transmitting the heritage of the Native American Huron people. Now, "The Storyteller" (published by Xlibris) shares these treasures to readers everywhere.
According to Tedesco, stories are the vocal history of the past, present and future of all civilizations, the legacy of previous generations containing relevance, wisdom and truth for their descendants to unravel - the genetic inheritance shaping societies and the individuals comprising them. Tedesco's tales, heirlooms from his grandmother who herself heard of them from her own mother during the depression, are also the stories of the Wendake, the Huron, who share them in their celebrations. These transcribed oral myths are suspenseful as well as entertaining, with surprises for those just unraveling the depths of these Wendake tales.
With "The Storyteller," Tedesco rediscovers and reclaims his own heritage by passing it down to another generation, influencing their hearts and minds with the gifts of his ancestors.

About the Author
Between the years of 1938 through the end of WW2, Rocco Tedesco, his mother and his sister lived with family near a reservation on a small farm in upstate New York. Writing was one way to escape and was one way to paint his world in any color he wanted. He started writing while he was in Vietnam, short stories which he sent home to his sons and daughters. He was 30 then and has been creating notes ever since 1966.
