Vivid and realistic nightmares about a man serving in Vietnam led Walt Williams realize that this man's life paralleled his own.

Williams believes that God has chosen him to present the story of an evangelical man serving in wartime Vietnam.

"I believe that this man was unable to tell his story and I have been chosen to tell it for him," Williams said.

The book is about a man of deep evangelical faith who morally and emotionally struggles with the harsh realities of the Vietnam War. It details the man's personal struggle to justify his lifestyle to the pulpit as well as his desires to keep his military life in his past. Williams hopes that the book will provide families with an understanding of why many soldiers are reluctant to discuss their combat experiences.

"My book offers insights into the emotional trauma of war," Williams said. "I hope that it will help military families to understand why some soldiers simply want to put their combat experiences behind them."
