CHICAGO

Studies have shown that money can contribute to one's overall happiness, but only when spent well.

In his new book "We Must Change the Way We Live," financial expert Pat Obi empowers individuals to become better educated and more financially astute in an era of a highly competitive and changing global economy.

"We have the ability to enjoy a fulfilling standard of living and a life that makes us feel we're valued members of society," Obi said. "But you have to have something to offer."

Against the background of the author's early struggles as a Nigerian-born immigrant, the book begins by reflecting on the core American values of hard work and excellence.

The book places value on financial prudence and advanced or specialized education, which affords one the ability to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

A thought-provoking read, "We Must Change the Way We Live" provides statistics, figures and quotes from inspirational world leaders in a compelling narrative style.
