What would have happened if the Axis powers had defeated the Allies in World War II? Author W.D. Laremore explores this possibility in his new novel, "World on Fire" (published by Trafford Publishing).
"World on Fire" has been selected for inclusion in the Gold Seal program, which recognizes excellence in writing and overall potential.
In this alternate history, Jameson Dodge resents the occupation of Nazi forces in the United States and builds a time machine to bring himself, a historian and a resistance fighter back to WW II to prevent the Allies from losing the war. Jameson's parents are an American soldier and an English girl who escaped Nottingham, England, as the Germans invade in 1944. Jameson and his parents come to realize they are key to changing the history of the world forever.
Laremore utilized his master's degree in history to bring real historical research to the novel. Projections of events, alternate realities and the timeline of events are the result of the author's careful analysis of multiple sources of information. Laremore hopes his book will help readers examine current political perspectives in America and Britain while also providing an entertaining story.
