Vendome Guide to St Barths Celebrating the Islands Unique and... Image WIMCO Villas announced today the publication of the 18th edition of The Vendôme Guide to St Barthelemy. The 137-page glossy magazine draws on well-known photographers and illustrators, and explores St. Barths through the eyes of a first time traveler, showcasing the beaches and restaurants that have made the island famous, as well as the bountiful array of private villas for rent.

“This issue is particularly special, as we were about to go to print last year when Hurricane Irma hit St. Barths,” said Heather Warburton, Creative Director. “The residents of St. Barths, as well as loyal travelers helped the island rebound in remarkable speed, and we wanted to reflect that in this year’s magazine.”

Within every issue, readers will find practical information such suggested activities, an island map, the best flight routes, and a note about WIMCO’s concierge services, all written with a nod to the discerning traveler. Editor Ray Parish contributed heavily to the feature writing, while Quentin Warren provided copyrighting expertise. Both are well-acquainted with St. Barths and frequent partners. New to this issue, however, are collaborations between photographers and illustrators.

Jake Rosenberg, Creative Director from The Coveteur spent a week in St. Barths photographing two villas as well as island scenes with British model Penny Lane (“Life & Style”, “Bon Temps”). Food writer and photographer Regan Baroni detailed the joys of cooking at home in “Dining Chez Vous”, spending a week at Villa VUE in Colombier. Illustrator Ashley Begley provided whimsical island depictions and St. Barths motifs, while heralded Italian artist Emiliano Ponzi sketched the afterword of the magazine, a visual rumination on the difference a year makes.

“At WIMCO we tend to favor the softer side of luxury – that a stunning villa and thoughtful service offers a setting for memories and special moments with great friends and family. It was important to imbue that sense of delight, whimsy, and authentic snapshots of beauty throughout the magazine by way of these talented artists,” Warburton adds.

In addition to a number of articles and pictorials, the magazine features over 60 pages of private villas for rent, and real estate listings. While WIMCO offers more than 370 villas on the island, varied in size, style and budget, the villa section aims to inspire guests to picture themselves at one of them through a collaged-style format.

After a quieter season in December 2017, St Barths will experience one of the busiest holiday seasons in recent years. Bolstered by a strong economy, guests are returning in droves for a number of reasons: the island’s intimate size and sense of community, the depth of choice when it comes to dining, and a certain unencumbered sophistication that’s akin to Europe in the summer. It’s these remarkable qualities, too, that The Vendôme Guide aims to capture in this newest edition.

The Vendôme Guide will be mailed to WIMCO’s clients and will also be placed in every villa in St. Barths to delight clients vacationing there over the holidays. To obtain a copy of the magazine or to request more information about its contents please contact: HWarburton(at)wimco.com
