Even with this welcome, she finds it difficult to accept this new corrupted world because it clashes with her morals. Alcina later realizes that her marriage is a scheme for her husband and father to gain power and that she was just a pawn all along. She now has no one to trust and does whatever she can to survive, else she perish. Readers follow as she journeys through the cosmos, rifting through time and space, in order to avoid the dark evils that seek to destroy her.
