CrossBooks is pleased to announce the nationwide release of Sanctification and Christian Ministry: The Growing Life and Profession of a Minister by first-time author Dr. Gary W. Clore, an ordained minister and chaplain in the U.S. Navy. Based on the concept that God's holiness sets the standard for a human's pursuit of holiness, the book explores the Bible to show how a theology of sanctification supports God's chosen people, a doctrine essential to the continuing spiritual growth of ministers, individual Christians, and the church.

Clore begins with the idea that God clearly calls certain people to be ministers who must in turn be sanctified, diminishing sin in their lives and pursuing holiness. He looks at the mission of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit as indicators of a new era of the righteousness of God, motivating believers toward personal growth that leads to sanctification. Sanctification and Christian Ministry also provides a theological guidance to correct false images and expectations for clergy, describing a minister as someone who is in constant spiritual formation as a professional.

"I have had a passion for the doctrine of sanctification since my earliest days as a Christian," said Dr. Clore. "As a minister who has remained faithful to God's call there is no less passion about the desire to grow spiritually as when I first began. Spiritual growth is a lifelong pursuit that I desire to communicate with others so that they may relate to their own experience, fully realizing that God leads all to grow in our spiritual journey."

The book concludes with a focus on the character and commission of a minister, emphasizing the doctrine of sanctification as a key factor in forming an active, relevant ministry that will further the mission of Christ and promote a new era of grace.

Paul Mikos, publisher at CrossBooks for LifeWay Christian Resources, said, "It's an honor to work with Dr. Clore, who himself considers it a privilege to work with our military and care for their souls. He is dedicated to his mission to serve Christ, the Church, and his nation as he has served in some of the most challenging areas of the world. We're excited to offer his insights on spiritual growth to an audience that will naturally include clergy but also those Christians who care passionately about the welfare of their church and spiritual leaders."

Sanctification and Christian Ministry is available now online and in stores through CrossBooks on LifeWay.com as well as through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other major retailers.
