Staying Up - Erectile Fitness Training for Good Sexual Health is one of the first books encouraging regular sex including masturbation as a form of erectile fitness training (EFT) for men. The authors state that many men with erectile problems can benefit from erectile fitness training. Erectile dysfunction is a common problem men face as they grow older with 50% experiencing some form of it by age 50.
The basic idea is to become sexually aroused with an erection, even if only a partial erection, at least two to three times a week culminating in org*sm either by sexual intercourse or masturbation. Just as regular physical exercise leads to good physical fitness, regular EFT can lead to stronger erections, enhanced sexual health, and increased sexual satisfaction. The penis works best when blood flows into it on a regular basis nurturing penile tissue from any kind of sex.
If a partner is not available then masturbation needs to be used for the EFT. The authors strongly argue that masturbation must not be thought of in negative terms. Regular sex with a partner or by masturbation should be viewed as a health enhancing activity associated with sexual health. The key factor is stimulation that leads to blood flowing into the penis. If, for whatever reason, it has to be done by masturbation, then that is what has to be done. Their book describing erectile problems and the advantages of EFT is available free of charge during the month of June, 2013 at the website SexSelfHelp.com.
The authors are currently giving away copies of Staying Up to medical patients who are at risk for erectile problems following treatment. They state that regular sex following some types of prostate cancer treatment may decrease the risks of erectile dysfunction.
