In "Turn an Elephant and Twelve Other Projects to Hone Your Turning Skills" (published by AuthorHouse), author Brian Oram's woodturning guidebook, readers are shown different projects that will help them hone their woodturning skills.

"Turn an Elephant and Twelve Other Projects to Hone Your Turning Skills" was completed to help new wood-turners become better at woodturning by progressing through 13 different projects. Each project is geared towards helping the reader - or in this instance wood-turner - develop new skills and techniques.

Each project builds upon the last, helping new wood-turners not only learn but master the new technique/skill they have learned. Each project is explained in full and illustrated by hands-on photos and complete diagrams. This allows readers to progress stage by stage through every item with confidence. By the end of the book, Oram knows the new turner will have an impressive gallery of work and have become an expert in his own right.

About the Author
Brian Oram worked with wood since the 1930s. Throughout his life, he had many opportunities to work with wood - building sheds, bookcases, dining and coffee tables, cots, and children's toys. Early retirement in the 1980s gave him the opportunity to use the woodturning facility of his Shopsmith to develop a new skill in woodturning. Attendance at a beginner's, and later, an intermediate standard woodturning course, was followed by membership of a woodturning club.
