"Book trailers have gotten a bad rap in the industry because most of them simply regurgitate the back cover description of the book slapped across a handful of random images with bad music," says JarEd Drake, CEO of Wildbound PR and co-founder of TrailerShelf. "That's not visual storytelling and it doesn't leverage the power of video."
Wildbound PR has made a name for itself for producing high-end book trailers for their clients, many of which have been featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post, New York Daily News, the BBC, and other top media. While submission to TrailerShelf is currently free, every video goes through close inspection and is held to the highest standards before being approved for the site. In the future, TrailerShelf will offer sponsored placements as well as an annual book trailer award given out at the Wildbound Film Festival (dedicated to book adaptations), held in October in Lake Tahoe.
