STOCKTON, Calif., July 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ The latest page-turner from accomplished storyteller Andre DeLove Williams is written with the silver screen in mind. "The Story of Clarence and Scout: A Story of Betrayal" has all the pace and energy of a great screenplay, and Williams is now taking offers from producers interested in turning this morally complex and thrilling work into a Hollywood blockbuster. The Kindle edition of the book is available today at https://www.amazon.com/Story-Clarence-Scout-Betrayal-ebook/dp/B072LTX5P4.

"The Story of Clarence and Scout" follows a young man named Clarence, who is drafted to fight in the jungles of Vietnam when he's only 21. Naturally, his wife, Kim, doesn't want him to leave her and their two-year-old son, Scout, behind to face the brutality of war. But Clarence feels a sense of patriotic duty and answers the military's call.

As a young black man in the turbulent 1960s, Vietnam's jungles and hidden enemies aren't the only dangers Clarence must confront in the U.S. Army. Almost from day one, he deals with racism from his commanding officer. Things go further downhill when his best friend is killed in a firefight. Somehow, Clarence perseveres and returns home from the war but home is now a different place. Kim has decided to leave her husband and raise Scout on her own. It's a fateful decision for everyone, especially Clarence.

In a sad twist, Clarence is robbed and gunned down during a visit to his bank. The murderer escapes justice, and Scout must grow up without a father.

Twenty years pass, and Clarence's killer remains at large. The tragedy becomes a painful memory, but it's only a memory or so it seems. Now all grown up, Scout has become good friends with a man about the same age as his father would have been had he lived. As it happens, Scout's friend is his father's murderer.

When Scout learns this awful fact, he's forced to decide the man's fate. Does he take vengeance on the man who took his father away in the prime of life, or does he convince him to go to the authorities and turn himself in? This moral crisis is the focal point of "The Story of Clarence and Scout," and what makes it a worthwhile investment for readers.

One such reader of Williams' latest fiction already sees its potential to make a splash on the big screen: "I loved reading 'The Story of Clarence and Scout' because it was like being in a movie, one that really kept your attention and interest all the way to the end."
