Saphira Barbara Linden's background is impressive. Director of the Omega Transpersonal Drama Therapy Certificate Program in Boston, she has amassed numerous accolades, including being the recipient of the first award for excellence in teaching given by The North American Association of Drama Therapy. In her newest work, the recently released "The Heart and Soul of Psychotherapy: A Transpersonal Approach through Theater Arts" (published by Trafford Publishing), Linden explores her Transpersonal Drama Therapy method through personal stories and concrete techniques for a wide range of vulnerable populations.
In "The Heart and Soul of Psychotherapy," Linden compiles the work of 39 gifted students and revered colleagues to share her approach of working with therapy clients. She presents 12 principles of Transpersonal Drama Therapy, which integrate the use of drama therapy, psychodrama, transformational theater and other creative art therapies.
"This book highlights inspiring stories of what has worked when psychotherapists, in this case, drama therapists and psychodramatists, integrate a transpersonal/spiritual approach, to healing," offers Linden. "For everywhere that there is suffering and despair, our book offers a ray of hope."
