Tory Hopkins was shot in the head. He also suffered incarceration. With such harrowing experiences, many young people living in ghettos and the street life would already get angry, bitter and never outgrow the trauma. Hopkins decided to be creative instead. He used his past experiences to craft a powerfully compelling fiction series. Now, he follows up his debut novel with a stunning sequel, titled "Da' Life: Part 2."

"I have been through so many tragic and horrific events in my life and wanted to turn all my bad experiences into something good," Hopkins says. "When I write, it sets my soul free and it helps me go through any emotion or problem that occurs in my life. I love to write, it is my passion."

"Da' Life: Part 2" is an urban novel that has its ins and outs about life, relationships, loyalty amongst friends, family and the streets. "Who has your back when life has you in a choke hold? Who is there when it's all said and done?" This poignant story, set in a poor side of town with housing projects for low income families, tackles such relevant questions that people who live in similar high risk areas constantly ask themselves.

The story follows Lil House, the main character who becomes a victim of the streets and who seems to be following in his father's footsteps who was murdered in Part 1 of the series. His story will definitely resonate with someone, somewhere who has lived this kind of life, still living this lifestyle or knows someone who has experienced this similar situation.

With ever-relevant issues like drugs, murders and other crimes, "Da' Life: Part 2" is a timeless urban tale that shares through fiction how the author overcame many obstacles. "Anyone can fall victim to any horrible situation, but it is about who will learn from the mistakes or who will continue making them," adds Hopkins.

About the Author
Tory Hopkins is the author of "Da' Life: Part 1" and "Da' Life: Part 2: Da' Nu Generation." He has lived the hard-knock life. He remembers his mother has always told him, "A hard head makes a soft butt." At the age of 25, he was shot in the head. "Da' Life: Part 2" is an interesting book that takes readers inside the life of people living in the ghettos. It paints a very detailed picture of the unimaginable struggles that young men face in the streets and in captivity by the judicial system. The book is a roller coaster ride from heartbreaking from the loss of family and friends to a joyous life that is earned and well deserved.
