Tommie A. Shider Announces ESL - REINFORCEMENT ACTIVITY BOOK

Tommie A. Shider, an experienced author and educator, has completed his new book "ESL - Reinforcement Activity Book": a fantastic supplement book for home and school!

Tommie A. Shider has been an educator in New Brunswick Public School District for the last 37 years and has just retired. For the last ten years he worked as an ESL Specialist in the Placement and Testing Center, which is part of the Bilingual Department in New Brunswick.

He has taught English as a Second Language to students and adults of all ages and backgrounds. As a Specialist, he tested new entrants to the district, created and shared innovative ESL strategies with colleagues as well as provide Professional Development.

His commitment to parents and community has brought him recognition throughout the district. He truly believes that parent involvement is a must when it comes to education. This belief encouraged him to create the slogan for the Bilingual Parent Council, Parents: The Voice That Makes the Difference. In 1993, he was the first and only male recipient to receive the Community Award for Teaching Excellence.
