Readers step into the world of a higher educator in "Job Satisfaction in Higher Education" (published by Trafford Publishing) as author Titus Oshagbemi shows them exactly how educators feel about their jobs while giving helpful suggestions to governments on how to improve the educators well-being.

"This research book describes and explains the feelings of workers in higher education about their jobs," says Oshagbemi. "It describes both the process and the results of finding out." Accompanying this thought-provoking look into the "real" educator is the author's own take on how the government should care for the welfare of academic workers. Each suggestion that is given comes from years of research into the mind of educators.

Oshagbemi feels that the improvement of this area is vital if modern society is to continue. "This sector is important as they contribute enormously to the progress of any society," he explains. "Taking care of them well may boost societal developments."

An excerpt from "Job Satisfaction in Higher Education":

"Job satisfaction is exceedingly important not only for the well being of individual workers but also for the organization. Low levels of job satisfaction have been related to early retirement and such problems as turnover, absenteeism, union activity, tardiness, grievances and hostile activity. These problems can be costly and disruptive to the smooth running of an organization."
