Basing his stories on personal experiences, author Tibor Hajdu releases his second book of essays, "The Marsh: and other stories" (published by AuthorHouse UK), which is a collection of short stories about change and the relationship between man and nature.

The book is filled with interesting characters: a fisherman's family, a curious grandmother living her second childhood, a teacher who goes mad, a grey heron, a big dog and many others. Hajdu says his interesting characters make "The Marsh" different than other books like it.

"It deals with the recent issues and controversies of relation of man and nature, the controversies of technical and social development, and the sense of humor of people, which always helps to overcome the difficulties," he says, adding that he hopes readers learn that "We are dependent from and responsible for our environment, including nature, rivers, and people."

An excerpt from "The Marsh":
At one time, on that spit of land famous for its fertile, muddy earth, which spreads out north from our town to be locked between the Maros and Tisza Rivers, in the days before the rivers were regulated, and even for a long time after that, there existed a sprawling marshland.
