The Strand Bookstore Presents David Altmejd in Conversation with Robert Hobbs, Tonight

Canadian born sculptor David Altmejd has gained notoriety for his work in large scale, often room-sized sculptures. His work incorporates a wide variety of materials, evoking both the beautiful and the grotesque and blending playfulness with high art. His work has been featured in the 2004 Whitney Biennial, the 2007 Venice Biennial and at numerous museums throughout North America and Europe. David Altmejd is the first truly comprehensive book on this artist's work, covering the scope of his entire career to date and containing commentary by numerous critics and writers.

David will join us for an exclusive chat at Strand, along with esteemed art historian and curator Robert Hobbs.
