Author Douglas Wiessner observed through his many travels along the U.S. and many other countries that there are many Christians who know how to study the Bible but are weak in putting it into practice. Therefore, as a minister of God and a loyal servant who wants to help his fellow Christians grow in spirit and in faith, Wiessner wrote a book that will help them put everything they read from the scripture in practice, reflecting "The Making of a Disciple."

After receiving salvation while he was still in the Air Force, Wiessner immediately turned and answered God's calling after he travelled many places, witnessing and sharing what God has told him; living a life in accordance to what Matthew 28: 18-20 says,

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Being Jesus last words before He left us to be with His Father emphasizes the importance of us going out to make disciples of others. Wiessner is now knocking on every reader's door and heart asking them to put into practice what they read. With this easy-to-understand study guide, he aims to let readers see the toil and the hard work that goes with "The Making of a Disciple."
