There's no shortage of books that profess to explain the Bible. Author and evangelist John F. Hunter has taken a different approach-keep it simple, accessible, and applicable to everyday life-in his new book, "Living the Christian Life."

Hunter has a background as a prison chaplain, pastor, missionary, and evangelist. His wealth of experience in making theology relatable to everyone is put to good use in his book.

"I really wanted to help Christians who are new to the faith, or who feel overwhelmed by what they see as the expectations of being a Christian," Hunter said. "It challenges Christians to grow spiritually in a way that anyone can handle."

Hunter is also a Vietnam veteran, so his abundant life experience combined with his perspective as an evangelist offers a well-rounded understanding of the human condition and how it applies to Christian life. For anyone without the expertise or desire to decipher elaborate religious texts, "Living the Christian Life" offers a solution.
