The Food and Sex Book has exactly 'what it says on the tin': recipes and sexipes for the caring cook. Professionally written and well presented, this new book breaks new ground by taking the same approach to both subjects. Sexipes are treated like recipes making them fun to follow, with ingredients spelled out clearly and methods easy to understand.
There are recipes for a few old favourites like chili con carne, with real flavour rather than pure heat, allowing for extra fire if needed, and a simple spaghetti Bolognaise to die for. Other recipes are more sophisticated, including Scallops, shell poached on the barbeque, with ginger and soy sauce, topped with crumbled Parma ham; showy, but easily cooked. Cod paste, Italian style (delicious on toast, inspired by Michael Dibden's Aurelio Zen novels) is excellent.
Sexipes vary from simple to elaborate: some with toys alone, some needing thought and preparationfixing securing points for bondage partners, for example. Options, featured throughout, include thirty techniques, in au Naturel (well mostly!), for oral sex alone! Dice are a creative ingredient.
Is this new book unusual? Yes, definitely. Taking the same approach to ingredients and methods for both works well though; it makes perfect sense. We have been referring to food and sex and their relationships in the same paragraphs for decades; this book simply does it more plainly, with a fresh, fun, approach.
Whether new to recipes and sexipes, an experienced chef and gourmet of the bedroom, male or female, young or old, there is something for everyone. It could be a regular cook book to make great food, an idea generator for the bedroom, or a neat gift for partner or spouse. Available from Amazon, it can be read on Kindle, Apple iPad and iPhone, PCs and android devices including phones.
Because of the way the sexipes are approached, this would also be ideal for those wanting help and guidance with their love life. The sub title is 'recipes and sexipes for the caring cook'; a sensitive approach is taken, providing good information about both sets of ingredients, including clear instructions on how to use them. More than ninety pictures help clarify and create ambiance.
It's not a book you'd want mum to see, or that you'd want to know she was using herself for that matter! Because it is an eBook though it easily remains hidden from prying eyes.
