It was a time of change, the Queen of the Dragon Empire and her human consort have passed, and the half-blood heir to the throne ascends to claim crown. The dominion is in uncertain times, though, for the threat of war bays at the gate. The young dragon ascendant bears the weight of the world on his shoulders and readers will see how he faces the greatest challenge of his life as author Jared Nescher tells the tale of "The Dragon Child."
The tale came to be when the author wished to debunk the popular stereotype of dragons being villainous monsters. The result was the tale of Dragon, a half-human and half-dragon, born from an ancient magic brought forth by his royal parents' love. Dragon's world is turned upside down as he travels with a small band of companions and he finds himself fighting battles that he does not want to be a part of. When everything around him falls apart, he is torn inside by his race and identity. He is not sure whether he should save the humans or save the dragons. As he is forced to make choices, Dragon learns about himself and the races that he is a part of, and in doing so, he becomes who he has always been destined by the Creator to be.
"The Dragon Child" is an epic fantasy adventure story packed with action, with magic and monsters, grand battles and heroic deeds that will inspire readers with its themes and virtues, showing the fight against tyranny, the creation of one's own destiny, of being all one can be while making the world a better place.
