The Boys of Chattanooga, a Tale of the American Civil War, Released for Purchase in Time for Milestone Anniversary

Clyde Hedges's book "The Boys of Chattanooga" tells the tale of the American Civil War, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the conflict. Told through three different points of view, the book is well-researched and faithful to historical facts. The Civil War was fought from April 12, 1861 to May 10, 1865, with the Siege and Battle of Chattanooga being fought from September 22, 1863 to November 25, 1863.

Possibly the most strategically important battle of the Civil War, the Battle of Chattanooga was also the only battle in American history where an entire army charged on their own volition and without orders from any superior officer.

Faced with 35,000 Confederate troops, the Army of Cumberland scaled Missionary Ridge and enforced the retreat of the Confederate Army of Tennessee to Georgia. Moving forward to victory without any orders, the battle was largely hailed a miracle, and it is considered so today.

"Without victory at Chattanooga, President Lincoln might not have been reelected and his successor would have probably allowed the South to go its own way," states Hedges. "It was a crucially important battle of the war."
