Cameron, Texas

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, more than 45 million turkeys are eaten every Thanksgiving. This equates to one sixth of all turkeys sold in the United States, making it no small feat.

In author Terence Young's new book, "A Turkey Gone Wild" (published by Trafford Publishing), a young turkey decides he isn't willing to join the 45 million turkeys killed for Thanksgiving that year, and instead decides to cause mayhem on the farm.

The young turkey is receiving a particularly large amount of attention on the farm lately due to the impending Thanksgiving meal. Though he generally sports a bad attitude to begin with, this special attention is making him even more anxious. Coupling his anxiety with Thanksgiving's approaching date, he decides he'd rather go out swinging than simply wind up as dinner.

"A Turkey Gone Wild" follows the young turkey as he blazes an anger-fueled trail across the farm, insulting and assaulting any and all farm animals with whom he crosses paths. With the book featuring vibrant illustrations, Young hopes it will appeal to readers of all ages and backgrounds as a colorful depiction of an altogether untold side of Thanksgiving.
