Over the years of clinical practice specializing in women and family psychiatry, Dr. Terence C. Teasdale has seen that the activity of love continues to fail despairingly. After examining many theories, he came to realize that mentally unstable mothers are the root of the problem. With his book, he aims to break the cycle of "Controlled Mothers and Damaged Daughters" (published by Xlibris AU) in order to end the self-perpetuating traumas affecting families across generations.
Teasdale saw the dreadful suffering inflicted on adolescents by mothers controlled by psychological disorders and felt compelled to reveal his controversial opinions and findings that challenge mainstream and established theories. His book enables readers to gain a better understanding of why families are really collapsing and why daughters are suffering. According to him, daughters of controlled mothers are bullied into becoming unimportant and insignificant persons who do not know their sense of self, becoming clones of their vicious and deceitful mothers. These daughters are forced to live under the siege of sadistic, bitter and mentally ill mothers, becoming the Achilles heel of their rampant neuroticism and narcissism.
To save families and damaged daughters before the harm becomes irreversible, Teasdale says that individuals and families must advance and evolve, increase their ability to relate and connect and take responsibility for telling the truth for its own sake. After exploring the causes of trauma, Teasdale delivers a hopeful message, telling his readers to achieve and gain real self-esteem, create and sustain happy memories and achieve fulfilling lives - thus gaining liberation from inter-generational cycles of violence.
