"Looking for the Man, I Thought I Married," shares the life of a woman who meet Reggie, a man full of secrets and lies, and the horrific pains she endured as lover and a wife. Throughout the pages, the author narrates how the relationship progressed from a happy to an abusive one, highlighting the red flags that gradually reveal Reggie's alarming background in abuse and violence.

In, "Looking for the Man, I Thought I Married," Maultsby reveals a woman's strength in the face of mistreatment. The author hopes to encourage readers, especially women, to be vigilant to the warning signs and to speak out before they become a victim of abuse.

She received her bachelor's degree in psychology with minor in special education from Fayetteville State University and her master's degree in education from Strayer University.
