Teen Struggles Through Drug Treatment in Paddy Stewart's NO FORWARDING ADDRESS

Having previously been employed by a drug treatment facility, author Paddy Stewart found herself impressed by the patients and their problems as well as the staff who worked there. After looking back and utilizing her personal experiences, Stewart has written her new book "No Forwarding Address" (published by Trafford Publishing).

"No Forwarding Address" tells a story in the life of teenager Reynaldo Garcia, a 16-year-old boy who is confined in a drug treatment center. Stewart tells the story of his trying times involving his treatment, his adjustment to the facility and his interactions with other patients there.

In contrast to the other patients, Reynaldo likes the facility as it provides the most stable environment and most caring people he's ever known. Unfortunately, it is still difficult for him to adjust because of the terrible influences that still control his life.

"Reynaldo stood a bit apart from the group, with Charles. Most of the boys were there at the insistence of their caseworkers. Participating in sports was part of the prescribed treatment. It was not only considered a healthy activity, but was designed to divert their interest away from drugs. However, organized sports were foreign to most of the patients."

Paddy Stewart has written many short stories and articles. "No Forwarding Address" is her second published novel. Her first book showcased the 25-year history of Vernon College where she was employed for a number of years. She also wrote articles for two North Texas newspapers.
