Emma couldn't be happier. She's popular, the captain of the cheerleading squad and has fallen in love with her boyfriend. What she doesn't know, is that she's pregnant.

Author Tawnye Dee Kanumuri invites readers to experience the ups, downs and unexpected happenings of high school and young adulthood in her new novel, "The Hope of Eliza" (published by WestBow Press), which follows Emma and Eliza, two young women following different paths.

Emma thinks her life is perfect until she learns of her pregnancy. Faced with the difficult decision of becoming a mother or pursuing life as she knows it, Emma is forced to grow up in ways she never expected.

Eliza, a recent high school graduate, is given the opportunity of a lifetime when she's offered an internship with the company of her dreams. Striving to become a successful journalist, she learns the true value and strength of family when she needs it most.

"The Hope of Eliza" follows Emma and Eliza as they pursue two totally different paths of life, all while learning the importance of family and the fleeting nature of innocence.
