Author Taranum carved her name in the publishing world in 2014 with the release of "Rhythmic Hues" (published by Partridge India). This book provides an admixture of conscious feelings and unconscious desires anchored on a psycho-philosophical framework.
Written over the course of a year, this poetry is the author's tribute to the rhythms and patterns of her everyday life, which she has often found meditative - helping her shape up her myriad thoughts into a stream of woven words.
Her poetry conjures vivid imagery through varied topics, including the spectacle of nature, the poignancy of a rape victim, a funny proposal, a couple dancing in symphony among many others.
Taranum has attempted to transcend the surface of things. One of her poems, 'Black and White,' talks about life and death using the metaphor of light creeping through a door, while 'The Sacred Soul' talks about a soul's attempts to evolve when it is a part of the material realm. This collection invites readers to explore themselves and find their identity - an exercise in individuation.
"This book is a beautiful combination of images and thoughts," Taranum says. "It makes for a visually appealing as well as a mentally stimulating read. In fact, each one of the readers of my book has appreciated the synchronisation of images with the respective poems."
