Over the last 4 years another tradition has taken hold: reading digital magazines on mobile devices while laying in a hammock or on a beach chair.
An independent media company recently completed a survey which elucidated what many feel to be obvious but over 85% of digital magazine readers spend their off time pleasure reading.
While many options for digital publications exist, some also noted that there are far too many and the user interfaces are not always completely reliable.
Responders of this survey did lean toward a preference for printed magazines when on vacation and surprisingly when at home as well.
Since Fly Fishing In Saltwater decided to stop making their magazine in 2013 there has been a void in the saltwater fly fishing arena. Fortunately, this will be the last year without a saltwater fly fishing magazine in print for your Fourth of July celebrations.
While saltwater enthusiasts will have to rely on digital books for this year's celebration, 2017 will be different.
Tail Fishing Magazine will begin to offer a printed version beginning September 1, 2016.
Issue 24 of Tail is scheduled for release at 12:00 midnight on July 1, 2016, just in time for the weekend.
"Remember to not drink and drive, keep children away from fireworks and try not to eat too much" says Founder of Tail Fly Fishing Magazine, Joseph Ballarani, aka FlyBoss.
