With China rising on the world's economic and political scene, the relationship between the United States and China has become more complex, and these days, a hot topic.

In "Two Tales of the Moon," Jennifer Sun channels her experiences as a Chinese immigrant and former career in finance and technology in a novel of the meeting of East and West.

In the novel, Lu Li, a successful Wall Street investment banker, and Will Donovan, a Navy veteran and owner of a cyber technology firm, get caught up in a high-stakes game of corruption and deceit as a large Chinese telecommunications company plans to acquire Will's firm. Along the way, they find themselves in an entangled romance, bound with moral and ethical dilemmas that threaten their relationship, as well as their professional futures.

Through her novel, Sun hopes to shine a light on the effect of communism on China in the past, the still Red China's super-power ambition in today's increasingly globalized world, as well as Wall Street and corporate greed in pursuing economic interest in China.

"The United States and China are trade partners, economic rivalries and foes in cyber warfare," Sun said. "Like two families tied together by blood or marriage, the U.S. and China are forever bound by money and profit."
