NATCHEZ, Miss.

"Love, loyalty, resilience and friendship are always relevant," says author Mary Ann Fields Whitehead. "We could use more of it in today's world."

In "Turning Point" (published by Xlibris), Whitehead creates a cast of interesting characters put into extraordinary circumstances to show friendship, devotion, loyalty and love in the face of life's ongoing struggles. The story starts with three orphan girls - Kate Mitchum, Leanne LeDeaux, and Kathy Jones. At nine-years-old, they face a "turning point" in their lives that changes everything.

Central to the story is Kate, who faces more than her share of "turning points" in her life, from harrowing experiences in high school to life-threatening/altering experiences in her adult life. She meets all these challenges head-on as she picks herself up time and time again when life knocks her down.

A story full of unexpected twists and turns, "Turning Point" works to surprise and even shock readers with an entertaining story that builds into an uplifting conclusion.
