Sergie Miro's new historical romance novel, "Treasure of Sanssouci Park" (published by Trafford Publishing), tells the compelling story of a young, Jewish cinema photographer's struggle as a British spy in Nazi Germany.
Kare Hoffman feels the effects of the approach of World War II immediately. His father is imprisoned after speaking out against the Nazi regime and his mother sends him to live with family in Great Britain.
While working in London, Kare is selected for a mission by the Special Intelligence Office. He is trained as a spy, gets a job at a German film studio and begins sending secret reports of German propaganda back to Britain. Meanwhile, he falls in love with an Aryan nurse, but when his Jewish background is revealed and he is sent to multiple concentration camps, their relationship alters their lives with tragic results.
Miro differentiates his work from other World War II historical fictions by incorporating stories about the German propaganda movie industry and the S.S. Cap Arcona. The S.S. Cap Arcona was a German ocean liner that was used as a prison ship and sunk by the Royal Air Force while carrying prisoners from Nazi concentration camps.
