TR Garrison wasn't satisfied with writing an ordinary action novel that featured popular masculine literary characters like Jason Bourne and Jack Ryan. Instead, Garrison sought to change the conversation about the typical action hero.

Garrison's new novel, "The Lady was a Spy" features a strong and independent female heroine, Jean Webb. Females heavily influenced Garrison's upbringing - so much so that he wanted to dedicate his book to them.

"Remembering my wonderful and beautiful mother and my two wonderful grandmothers inspired me to write this book and develop this female action hero," Garrison said.

Garrison's novel follows Webb, a former World War II OSS hero and CIA agent turned private investigator. Webb is called back to the agency after she learns her family is the target of Colombian and Mexican drug lords. Throughout the book, Webb leads a unique team to thwart the dangerous criminals.

"The Lady was a Spy" is an action-packed thrill ride that follows Webb and her team around the globe in pursuit of justice. Through the book, Garrison hopes that Webb's story will resonate with both sexes and her name will be synonymous with a long list of prominent heroes in literature.
