Tales of paranormal activities, reports of spiritual encounters and ghost stories have always appealed to their audiences since time immemorial, as they tap into man's innate curiosity with unseen forces and powers beyond humanity's reckoning. With her new book, Totally Sarah, author Gladys Dorris shares stories of such otherworldly experiences, as she tells the tale of a young woman gifted with extrasensory perception who embarks on a series of paranormal adventures in London, a city in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.
When a girl named Sarah Johnson is hospitalized because of a life-threatening childhood illness, she receives a visitation from a lady in red, a phantasm whose appearance changes her life forever. After this incident, she develops a gift of heightened extrasensory perception, and as the years go by, strange and unusual events continuously occur in her life, and she becomes more and more immersed in the world of the supernatural and the extra-normal. The narrative follows her adventures even as she reaches adulthood, when she marries her high school sweetheart, Kevin. They have a son, Tommy, who seems to inherit Sarah's sensitivity, and their supernatural adventures continue as mother and child team up and go out to investigate cold-case murder mysteries while living in a haunted Kitchener-Waterloo apartment.
The author and her childhood friends actually experienced some of the events depicted in this story, thus sprinkling the narrative with a pinch of truth. Totally Sarah promises to appeal to virtually all ages as it covers many interests. Even those who do not believe in paranormal activities will enjoy reading Dorris' work, as her story covers varied topics such as family relationships, ghostly encounters, romance, ESP, kidnapping, and murder.
