MARANA, Ariz. - His love for classic children's literature combined with his direct involvement with children of all ages, during his career, has propelled author P. L. Hurst to write the story of "The Two Tribes" (published by Xlibris). Children who love good doses of magic and adventure are invited to come and join a young heroine as she visits the fantastic world of Anaram.
A 10-year-old girl named Jazzmine is transported to a magical world called Anaram. It is there that she tries to end a war between the two tribes of immortal children. This mission leads to an even bigger adventure that sees Jazzmine befriend many interesting characters and overcome nearly hopeless obstacles along the way.
"It is serious in parts but I tried to make it as playful as possible," Hurst says, "I made a conscious effort to pull inspiration from classic children's literature like Frank L. Baum's Oz series and P. L. Traver's "Mary Poppins." Elements that I feel missing in most modern children's books are currently available."
By stirring children's rich imagination, Hurst is able to draw readers in to a whole new world of fantasy and adventure that immerses readers within its pages. "The Two Tribes" provides the right avenue for young minds to enjoy magic and literature by identifying with the characters while basking in the idea of never growing up.
