What began as a coping mechanism for PTSD and other issues is now Anny Omous' new novel, "The Three Year Affair" (published by Lulu). Omous had never thought she would show her writing to anyone, but she knew that she wanted others to feel the confidence and resolve she felt upon completing her work.
Set in Canada, Omous casts herself as the main character in the story. In the book, she is a member of one of the country's most notorious motorcycle clubs. Though protected by the club, she falls victim to her inner struggles, including PTSD.
When she is reconnected to Liam Woods, a childhood friend, she is able to step out of her darkness and begins a romantic affair with him. What Anny doesn't know is that Liam is a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's organized crime unit. His team is set to bring down the motorcycle club. Anny will find herself torn between love and loyalty.
"I think this book will appeal to readers as it touches on a lot of issues within society today, including bullying, spousal abuse and PTSD," Omous says.
An excerpt from "The Three Year Affair":
"'Okay, but this is far from over!' He whispers in my ear. He leans down and kisses me. I try for a second one, he grins, a seductive smile, and pulls away, teasing me, making me, want him more. Then, after what feels like forever, he leans in for the final kiss of the session."
