ADELAIDE, Australia - Tales of life on a drill ship from her son inspired Elynor Frances Olijnyk to write her illustrated storybook, "The Secret on the Loona Rosa" (published by Xlibris AU). It tells a delightful tale of loving and caring and friendship set against the background of dedication to duty and hard work on board a drill ship.

Homer is a racing pigeon who lives in a roof top pigeon loft on Mr. Chong Lee's house in China. Every morning Mr. Chong Lee opens the loft and sets his pigeons free to fly until he calls them home again. One morning, however, Homer is swept up into the sky by a stormy wind and is lost over the ocean. He is rescued by the crew of the Loona Rosa, a drill ship out in the Pacific Ocean off the shores of Japan. So begins his adventures where he learns of love and kindness from the crew in a tale that also educates readers with insights into the oil and gas exploration industry. Homer eventually finds his way back to Mr. Lee and the story comes to a full circle to reveal the value of love and a place to call home.

"It is a story that had to be told and a book to treasure!" exclaims Olijnyk. A colorfully illustrated tale that offers a fun learning experience, "The Secret on the Loona Rosa" teaches values and expands children's vocabulary. It even has a question and answer portion to help cement its lessons. As a book that teaches values, it works to impress upon readers an admiration for people committed to an important work.
