"The Scholar's Key" (published by Xlibris) is a book aimed at young adults, but is not limited to anyone who has endured the human experiences. It offers a series of personal stories, study tips, poems and words of encouragement. Author Donovan Colquitt's goal is to motivate young adults to apply for scholarships and strive towards making their dreams come true.
This is a teen-to-teen advice book aimed at motivating students to apply for scholarships. It was written shortly after the height of Colquitt's senior year of high school when he received several award letters from national scholarships. In this book, Colquitt shares how molding one's future begins with self-reflection, and motivates them to act on their goals. This book includes a variety of elements such as poetry, personal stories, college advice for freshmen and several stories from other fellow scholarship recipients. On the road to achieving one's dreams, "The Scholar's Key" encourages readers to be the first person to tell their selves to stand up to the challenge, focus on what they are dream of doing and have fun on throughout their pursuit of happiness.
"I want readers to know that any aspiration they have can be made achievable with a mindset of determination," author Colquitt points out. "My poems range from talking about self-confidence and personal struggles to love. I think the book is versatile enough that anyone could pick it up and relate to my experiences and stories."
"The Scholar's Key" guides readers on how to tell their selves to be the best at one goal and have fun while they achieve it. This mindset will lead them to learn to apply themselves throughout everything they do in life to the point where anything is achievable as long as they believe in their self.
