In her new stirring book, author Mary Bottom-Tinsley shares a touching play that speaks the importance of family, realtionships, hope, and love. Released by Xlibris, The Mother Who Was Once Denied brings back readers to the true meaning of trusting in the Lord.
A mix of fact and fiction, The Mother Who Was Once Denied tells the compelling story of Minnie, a loving mother, and the relationship that she keeps with her family and with God. It follows a God-fearing, happily married Southern couple as they encounter some good and crucial times in their lives. After a tragedy caused the facial impairment of Minnie, her husband Tom becomes a naïve and self-centered man who felt like he could not deal with the physical and emotional changes in his wife's life. As though this negative response isn't enough to break Minnie's heart, she is forced to face the responsibilities of taking care of herself and her two children alone when Tom decides to leave with their youngest child and live in New York. Deeply depressed, Minnie decides to work but every place she goes only says one thing: she can't work because of her face. Fifteen years later, her youngest child from New York visits her, only to deny and feel ashamed for her. Will Minnie forever suffer from the harsh judgment of the world? Or will she finally have back the family that she longs for?
Eye-opening and thought-provoking, The Mother Who Was Once Denied is a poignant play that tells how God never forsakes anyone, regardless of physical appearance. Follow Minnie as she learns patience and waits on the Lord with great determination to rise above all difficulties that surround her during her darkest times.
