Maureen Cochram and Clare Eacott bring to the literary limelight a new book featuring "The Drive Home: A New Map for Retirement" (published by Xlibris AU). Enthralling, entertaining and evocative, this book captures the concerns of many who are entering retirement stage with candor and insight and reclaims this phase as catalyst to renew and transform one's self and life.

"The Drive Home" shares the authors' conversations that explore their experiences of transitioning in retirement, encompassing everything from daily living to deep reflections. With honesty and compassion, they share their journey from scarcity to an expansive experience of life. Their story is a disarmingly frank and at times hilarious journey through the first three years of retirement. Rather than diminish, they discover life expanding as a whole new reality of retirement emerged for them.

"This book is a unique conversation between two people who are at the very beginning of the retirement transition and share: the reasons why they both felt that it was impossible for them to continue in their careers, the catalysts for finally making the decision, the exploration of this new unknown territory without the structure of work, busting the myths around money, happiness and personal worth, and the rediscovery that life at any stage is all about fulfilling needs for certainty, variety, contribution, creativity, connection, growth and significance," the authors point out.

"The Drive Home" imparts to readers a new sense of possibilities, hope and purpose for this stage of life. Cochram and Eacott share: "We want the reader to know that they are not alone, to feel encouraged by our experiences to reclaim their life on their own terms in retirement."
