After his wife noticed some of her students' home lives or other factors hindering their learning, author J.R.S. decided to write "The Book with No Name" (published by AuthorHouse).
The husband-and-wife duo teamed up to create a children's book that would appeal to all students whose life situations have interfered with their creativity, learning or interactions with others.
"We wanted to show children that being different is OK," J.R.S. says. "Being a little uncomfortable about being different is also OK. We also know that one should never judge anybody for being different, having a disability, or just being a loner. So by writing this book it gave us insight into helping young readers overcome their troubles and everyday life problems."
The book includes colorful illustrations of childhood situations like bullying, run-ins with authority and embarrassment for being different.
Each illustration is accompanied by motivational phrases for young readers to incorporate into their lives as safety mechanisms against teasing or confrontation.
J.R.S. says "The Book with No Name" can help young readers believe in themselves and overcome societal norms.
