Pharise Mallard and Roxel Stapleton are both professionals. But the tension between them is fracturing their professional demeanors. Pharise is a nurse who works for Durem Consultants. Her responsibilities include investigating and documenting safety infractions. Her career has taken a turn for the worst since her mother's death. Intent on turning things around, she takes a trip to Washington, D.C., reopening a case of supposed negligence by medical manufacturer Allegory Medical.
Roxel, the sinfully good looking multi-millionaire CEO of Allegory Medical, is determined not to let Pharise re-open the lies she originally alleged toward his company.
But despite the significant amount of distrust and dislike Pharise and Roxel feel towards each other, they find love, trust and strength in their relationship, which teaches them how commitment and support can help a person conquer their fears and insecurities.
