Hopeton Gray's distant love affairs via the telephone was the catalyst to enable him to write about such a topical social media tool; the telephone. For him, it is about the cyber craze of being connected because the telephone serves as a liaison between a man and a woman from a distance. And thus, he has written "Telephone Love." (published by Xlibris AU)

The book is about distant romances; it is a situation whereby one can hear but one cannot touch. It tells the story of Leroy Campbell who got infatuated with a girl named Tanisha whom he met in a bar in Jamaica. However, he is bound back to Sydney leaving behind his girl Isabella. Leroy was lost in his romantic world when flashes of his loves wafted through his mind like a breeze. His reflective mind began to think of Isabella and the time they spent together in his mountain hideout. In a snap he also thought of Tanisha. For Leroy, it was an enigma, a sad reality of distant loves. Will he survive this long distance love affair?

"This book will appeal to readers because love between a man and a woman is always topical and so is the telephone, we are now cyber connected," says Gray. "Love can blossom via the social media search engines and predominantly the telephone."

Written by a Jamaican with a rich cultural mix, "Telephone Love" expresses the importance of being connected via the iconic telephone. It reflects the funny side and the frustration of sustaining a distant love affair but made a lot easier because of a devise known as the telephone.
