Mick Quinlivan never intended to publish a book at the beginning. Upon retirement, he simply began writing short stories and emailed them to friends. With their encouragement, he began to compile these stories and put them in a book that reflected his exercises in imagination, trying to show what is possible in an entertaining way.

Tales of Wonder & Imagination is a varied collection of about four dozen short stories intended to tickle the readers' imagination, lead them to reflection and call them to action. Its overall theme is speculative fiction, showing in general, the good side of man and man's best friend.

Each story is a unique tale all its own. Some speak of youth and a quest of self-discovery, others speak of old age and self-assurance. Many centre on people and relationships, jobs and experiences, nature and travel, things and events.

However, somehow one thing seems to surface - Mick Quinlivan's fascination for dogs. The collection begins with "Job For a Dog." Then throughout the book, he mentions such canine companions many times. He claims that roughly a third of the writings are about dogs. The book even has a picture of one.

As there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder, readers will freely explore the world around them and beyond in Tales of Wonder & Imagination. With its conversational tone and amusing narrative style, it attracts readers with its references to life's mysteries and miracles, and of course, hope.
