WEST MONROE, La. - Author T.C. Ashing was 19 when he had a dream involving an interesting spin on the apocalypse. As time went on, he expanded on it. This gave birth to his first publication, "The Four" (published by Xlibris).

The story involves four people who seem unrelated, and as their paths cross, they get a sense of a foreboding connection. They are struck with many tragic events that bring them closer to each other, and when they discover the truth about what ties them together, it is something unexpected and more horrifying than they had imagined. Will Nathan, Samantha, Erick and Jessica discover the truth behind their fate?

With its richly drawn characters and riveting twists and turns, "The Four" takes readers on a journey through a series of strange coincidences that sometimes leads to tragic ends. Ashing does not hold back on the gruesome details, weaving a story with a complex plot and a lot of moving parts. Everything is connected in some sort of way, creating a slow-moving chain reaction. Through this gripping read, readers will learn that the world can be cruel, and its darkness can reshape them in ways they could never imagine. It is a modern occult fiction with a dash of horror thrown in, while also exploring the way society can shape one's perception and curtail freedom.

"I think we've reached a point where things need to be looked at from a different perspective in order for us to better understand what's happening around us," Ashing says. "This book takes looking at things from a victim's point of view and turns it on its head."
