Summer Game Books, publisher of new and classic baseball books, has signed a deal with artist Lindsay Frost to provide cover art for two of its upcoming summer 2015 releases. Frost's paintings "Fenway" will appear on My Thirty Ballpark Summer, a book by Tobey Shiverick, while "Ball #1" will be featured on the cover of "Everything I Know I Learned from Baseball" by Philip Theibert. Both books will be released on Father's Day.
"The painting of Fenway was inspired by, and a gift to my father, the actor Warren Frost, because he is a lifelong, die-hard Red Sox fan," said
Lindsay Frost. "I am thrilled to be fortunate enough to partner with Summer Game Books to help share the great stories of baseball. The greatest game in the world!"
Frost is a contemporary artist from Santa Monica, CA. After a twenty-five year career as an actress with major roles spanning Broadway, television, and film, she returned to her other artistic love, painting. Through her art, Frost has been able to combine her two great passions: baseball and painting. Her baseball work, especially her MLB Collection, has been sold and shown around the country, most recently in the All-Star Baseball Art Exhibition in Hoboken NJ. Both her sons are baseball players and her first-born, Lucas Giolito, was the 1st round pick of the Washington Nationals in the 2012 MLB Draft.
"Lindsay's artwork is remarkable, and these paintings are perfect for the books they'll appear on," says Summer Game Books publisher, Walt Friedman. "They evoke the same warmth and affection that so many baseball fans feel for our national pastime."
"My Thirty Ballpark Summer" and "Everything I Know I Learned from Baseball" will be released simultaneously on June 14, 2015 in both digital and trade paperback.
