Strand Book Store to Host Spooky Book Swap and Costume Contest, 10/10

On October 10th, Strand Book Store + CoverSpy partner to present an awesome book swap + costume contest. Kate Gavino of Last Night's Reading will be our artist in residence and do portraits for attendees. We'll have wine + treats as part of admission, including: Sigmund's pretzels, Billy's Bakery cupcakes, goodies from The Good Batch, and Mast Brother's chocolate. Contest winners can win gift cards to The Bean or Brooklyn Farmacy or a set of chocolate bars from Mast Brothers!

Have Nancy Drew's classic bob? Know a Brooklyn buddy whose beard screams Captain Ahab? Maybe that mink coat your grandma gave you doubles perfectly for Edward Gorey's!

Let Strand and CoverSpy help you gear up for Halloween in style with a book swap and literary costume contest... Bring three books to trade and come dressed as a favorite character or author for the chance to win awesome prizes! We'll take care of the rest including wine, Argo Tea, goodies from Billy's Bakery, Sigmund's Pretzels and giveaways from Strand, The Bean and other NYC hotspots.

Admission is $15 cash and may be purchased at the door or online. All options admit one person. Please note that payment is required for all online event orders at the time of checkout.
