(PRWEB) April 02, 2013 Englishman JEREMY DAVIES opens an old sea-chest and discovers a journal that captures his father's true adventures, and forever changes Jeremy's life. The journal, written in the 1700s, provides Jeremy with a glimpse into the father he never knew, according to the story in this new book. Nicholas describes his capture by a cruel gang of seafaring pirates and the events that follows. Jeremy can't resist the journal, which relates not only his father's tale but the story of the curse of the Black Frigate.

"The Black Frigate: A Journal and Record of the True Adventures and Life of Nicholas Davies" captures the searing story of a young man's maiden voyage and a brother's betrayal. The Black Frigate soon makes its mark on Nicholas' soul, bringing him a new measure of respect from the pirates. He avoids the executioner during a short-lived escape from the pirates and after being blooded in his first battle, spies three pirates burying treasure. A beautiful young girl and a pact with a fellow former pirate irrevocably shape his fortunes and that of his descendant in this swashbuckling story.

Author Stephen Kinnaman, raised in upstate New York and New Jersey, has more than 35 years of professional experience in offshore and marine technology. Kinnaman also wrote "On the Panama: A Lionel Oakely Adventure" and "The Most Perfect Cruiser: How James Dunwoody Bulloch Constructed and Equipped the Confederate States Steamer Alabama." He and his wife, Maureen, live in Chappell Hill, Texas.
