RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/  Released on August 23, 2018, by The Oaklea Press, Stephen Hawley Martin's new book, "Actual Magic: How to Unleash the Power of Your Mind" has rocketed to the number one position atop One-Hour Self-Help Short Reads on Amazon.

According to the author, Actual Magic is real magic, not the illusionary "magic" of stage magicians or the fantasy magic of Harry Potter. It refers to events that take place due to the mind power of one or more individuals. Martin pointed to findings by researchers at the University of Virginia School of Medicine that the brain does not create consciousness, but rather is a receiver of consciousness not unlike a cell phone or radio, as evidence that thoughts are nonlocal. He claimed that as such, what we think and believe can influence outcomes.

Martin said: "We all work Actual Magic all the time, but the vast majority of us are unaware that we are doing so, often to our detriment. We tend to think events take place by chance or accident-that they 'just happen' due to the luck of the draw. This may often be true, but it is not always the case, as my book explains."

Stephen Hawley Martin is the author of another book that is currently a bestseller in its category, "Life After Death, Powerful Evidence You Will Never Die." He is the only three-time winner of the Writer's Digest Book Award, having won first prize twice for fiction and once for nonfiction. He also has won a first prize for visionary fiction from Independent Publisher and a first prize for nonfiction from USA Book News.

The Oaklea Press was founded in 1995 and currently has more than fifty books in print.
